The pursuit of a multi-ethnic church is not just a nice idea; it is the hope for the gospel. Jesus taught us to pray, “Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (Matthew 6:10) So the question is: If the Kingdom of God is not segregated, why on earth is the local church?
So a multi-ethnic church it’s not as much about ‘racial reconciliation’ as it is about seeing men and women reconciled to God through faith in Jesus Christ; and collectively, then, to the principles and practices of New Testament local churches, such as existed in Antioch and Ephesus. These early churches were truly diverse communities of faith in which believing Jews and Gentiles walked, worked, and worshipped God together as one so that the world know God’s love and believe John 17:23.
